Position Title
Skill Bridge Fellow – Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) – Columbia, MD
Location & Role TypeOnsite – Columbia, MD (BBN Technologies, RTX Corporation)
Security ClearanceActive DoD TS/SCI (with polygraph) required prior to start date.
Responsibilities- Research, develop, and implement novel algorithms to solve customer challenges related to Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR).
- Develop software systems to train and test ASR models on customer data.
- Build new ASR models for customer data and domain.
- Interface with DoD clients supporting ASR research systems.
- Eligible to participate in DoW Skill Bridge.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (with polygraph).
- Typically requires a BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and 8 years of experience, or an MS degree with 5 years of experience.
- Proficient in Python programming and the Linux command line.
- Experience in machine learning and empirical research.
- Bash programming.
- Hands‑on experience with speech‑recognition technologies.
- Experience with ESPnet.
- Experience with PyTorch.
- Knowledge of software development in Python.
