Enlighten is a cutting‑edge technology company dedicated to developing innovative software solutions for our clients. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team.

As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer‑based systems. You will work closely with other engineers to create software solutions that meet our clients’ needs. The role is hybrid, with some on‑site support.

• Security Clearance – A current TS/SCI level U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.
• At least 9 years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava) and a Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Experience in RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle.
• Experience with configuration‑management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Comfortable working on a Linux command line.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently as well as in a team setting.
• Problem‑solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification required within 60 days of employment.
• Must be able to work on customer site in Hanover, MD 1–2 days per week and at Enlighten’s Columbia, MD office 1 day per week. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure, and K8s.
• Experience in cloud‑based technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Experience in SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL), distributed databases, No
  
  SQL databases.
• Scripting experience is a huge plus.
• Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard software‑development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Youtrack, Github).
