Enterprise - Software Engineer - Kubernetes, Java, REST Columbia, MD

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

• Must have a current U.S. Government Security Clearance is desired but not required; U.S. Citizenship required. Candidates with a current Secret or TS level clearance may also be considered.

Nine (9) years experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava). Bachelors in related field; seven (7) years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and thirteen (13) years relevant experience.

• Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm and Flux
• Strong Java software development experience
• Experience in designing enterprise APIs
• Experience in RESTful web services
• Experience in Microservices architecture
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently as well as in a team setting
• Experience with Linux operating system
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven)
• Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes as needed

• Experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Experience designing and writing custom Kubernetes tooling like operators and custom CRDs
• Experience with programming languages such as Go and Python
• Experience writing automation in CI/CD tooling such as Git Lab CI pipelines
• Experience in distributed databases, No
  
  SQL databases, full‑text‑search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr)
• Scripting experience is a huge plus
• Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub Enterprise)

This position allows for partial telework.
