Principal Software Engineer

Clearance Requirement: An active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required. Please do not apply if you do not possess this level of clearance.

Position: Principal Software Engineer (full‑time) supporting a U.S. Government customer on a subcontract.

Job Description: The principal engineer will develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, large data set manipulation, real‑time systems, and business management information systems. Responsibilities include reviewing and testing software components, resolving problem reports, applying appropriate development and design methodologies, contributing to system design, and evaluating trade‑offs and reuse of COTS/GOTS solutions.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements.
• Work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements and documenting test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and provide input on system design, hardware/software trade‑offs, software reuse, and use of COTS/GOTS.
• Analyze and synthesize requirements from system level to individual software components.

• Active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• 20+ years of experience as a software engineer and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• UI/UX architecture and front‑end development.
• API design.
• ReactJS, NodeJS, Java, Spring Boot.
• Containerization with Docker/Podman.
• AWS cloud infrastructure.
• MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Gradle.

Location: Columbia, MD.

Salary Range: $190,000 to $280,000, subject to qualifications and experience.
