Senior Software Engineer (Partial Telework)

Glia Cell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission‑related software and systems for a large government contract.

The Work:

• Modernize a legacy operational system using a micro‑services architecture and cutting‑edge technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Write Java Spring Boot based micro‑service applications utilizing AWS native technologies.
• Build REST services with Spring able to filter and select complex data objects.
• Implement CI/CD principles utilizing Maven, Git Lab and Git Ops.
• Participate in agile development and delivery of software.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

• Active or reinstatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• Active Top Secret clearance with polygraph (CI within the last 7 years).
• Professional/educational experience: 9 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with a master’s degree.
• Works well independently as well as on a team.
• Strong AWS experience.
• Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.

Desired Skills (at least two of the following):

• Python

  SQL / MongoDB query and schema design
• Test frameworks and automation including Playwright and Cucumber

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD / Partial Telework (2 days per week expected)

Salary Range: $170,000 to $230,000. Salary determined by position, level, skills, experience, education, and certification. Sign‑on bonus eligible.
