Senior Cost Accountant — Manufacturing | Metro East St. Louis Area

We’re partnering with a stable, growth-minded manufacturing plant in the Metro East St. Louis region to hire an Experienced Senior Cost Accountant. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Plant Controller, with strong exposure to operations and leadership—perfect for someone who likes getting into the numbers and influencing what happens next.

What You’ll Do

As Senior Cost Accountant, you’ll support key plant finance activities including month-end close, inventory balancing, capital reporting, and operational cost analysis.

Core responsibilities include:

• Own key month-end close processes and journal entries, ensuring reporting timelines are met
• Partner with department leaders to provide proactive insights on performance, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Manage accurate and timely third-party guest invoicing
• Prepare and complete monthly GL account reconciliations
• Support the Plant Controller in developing the annual plant budget
• Assist with the annual physical inventory process
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–10 years of manufacturing accounting experience (Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Senior Cost, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of cost accounting + inventory in a plant environment
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and leadership
