Position: Long-Range Forecasting Consultant - Pharmacy (Business Consultant Senior)

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. The approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point locations in St. Louis, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Plano, TX or Lake Mary, FL.

Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

Long-Range Forecasting Consultant - Pharmacy (Business Consultant Senior) is responsible for developing and maintaining a 6–36 month demand and workforce forecasts for our specialty and infusion pharmacy operations. The role partners closely with Pharmacy Operations, Workforce Management, Finance, Human Resources, Sales and Analytics to provide forward‑looking insights that enable proactive staffing, budgeting, and capacity planning. It also involves translating complex business needs into application software requirements that impact a wide range of functions.

You Will Make An Impact
  • Develop and maintain long‑range volume forecasts using historical data, seasonality, benefit cycles, and business drivers.
  • Build predictive and scenario‑based models to assess demand variability and risk.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously refine models using variance analysis.
  • Translate volume forecasts into headcount, FTE, and skill‑mix requirements.
  • Partner with Workforce Management to align long‑range forecasts with short‑term scheduling and intraday management.
  • Support hiring, backfill, cross‑training, and redeployment strategies.
  • Collaborate with Finance on labor budgeting, reforecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Provide data‑driven insights to inform strategic initiatives, growth planning, and operational changes.
  • Quantify workforce impacts of new programs, regulatory changes, or benefit design shifts.
  • Manage ROI analysis of pharmacy initiatives impacting workflow and productivity.
  • Present forecasts, assumptions, and risks to operational and executive leadership.
  • Serve as the single source of truth for forward‑looking pharmacy demand planning.
  • Create clear, executive‑level summaries and dashboards.
  • Provide expertise to lower‑level consultants on the analysis of business needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.
  • Determine specific business application software requirements to address the most highly complex business needs.
  • Lead teams of analysts assigned to the most complex projects, typically those of highest importance and impact.
  • Analyze and design solutions to address varied and highly complex business needs.
Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 10 years business analysis experience, which should include analysis, project management, working knowledge of mainframe computer, hardware, and operating systems; a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Consultant with project management skills; or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
  • 10+ years of experience in workforce forecasting, capacity planning, or demand forecasting in healthcare, PBM, pharmacy, call center, or high‑volume operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex models, Power Query, pivoting) and forecasting and statistical techniques (trend analysis, seasonality, regression).
  • Strong analytical capability.
  • Healthcare operations knowledge.
  • Ability to translate complex forecasts into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Experience with Workforce Management tools (e.g., NICE, Verint, Aspect, or similar), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL, Python, or R.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS Analytics, MS Operations Research) preferred.
