Operations Manager, Civil Engineering
The Schedule Specialist supports the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules across multiple construction projects. This role partners with Project Managers, field teams, and Scheduling Leadership to ensure accurate schedule updates, milestone tracking, and timely communication of schedule performance. The Schedule Specialist plays a key role in maintaining schedule integrity, identifying risks, and supporting execution strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules from preconstruction through project closeout
- Update schedules regularly based on field progress, production tracking, and input from project teams
- Ensure schedule logic, sequencing, and durations accurately reflect field execution plans
- Support milestone tracking and ensure alignment with contractual commitments and internal targets
- Communicate schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts to project teams and Scheduling Leadership
- Participate in schedule review meetings and coordination discussions with Project Managers and field teams
- Identify potential schedule risks and assist in developing mitigation or recovery plans
Maintain accurate progress updates, including percent complete, installed quantities, and productivity trends - Assist with preparation of schedule reports and dashboards and look‑ahead plans
- Support time impact analysis and change management processes as directed
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in scheduling data across assigned projects
- Utilize company‑standard scheduling tools and software to track and report project performance
- 2–5 years of experience in construction, project controls, or scheduling‑related roles
- Basic understanding of construction sequencing, project lifecycle, and field operations
- Experience working with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with project teams and internal stakeholders
- Experience supporting self‑perform construction operations, preferably concrete construction
- Exposure to CPM (Critical Path Method) scheduling concepts
- Familiarity with production tracking and progress measurement techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, schedules, and project plans
- Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Willingness to learn and develop advanced scheduling and project controls skills
- Primarily office‑based with periodic visits to active construction jobsites
- Ability to walk jobsites, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain when required
- May require extended periods of sitting and computer use
Salary Range:
Competitive Annual Salary based on qualifications, skills, training, experience, and location.
Discretionary Annual Bonus:
Subject to company performance and individual contribution.
