This is a traveling field position. Any projects over 1 hour from residence will stay at a hotel which will be company paid. Company offers a vehicle allowance, per diems and company gas card in addition to salary and benefits.
Provide site liaison support for the superintendent and the construction team on inter-discipline subcontractor coordination and overall quality of work at job sites in field operations.
Essential FunctionsAssist contractors interpret the job's designs, ensure the job is constructed according to the project plans, and assist project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
Coordination of the implementation of a project, ensuring it is being built correctly; project schedules and forecasts; interpretation of drawings for subcontractors; review of engineering deliverables; redlining drawings; regular project status reports; budget monitoring and trend tracking; bill of materials creation and maintenance; effective communications between engineering, technical, construction, and project controls groups; and assistance to the project manager.
Research regarding city, county and state construction codes and regulations for every project as needed.
Assist with the evaluation and development of solutions to problems and questions from subcontractors and other workers on-site. Provide support for all RFI submittals from project staff.
Attend all site meetings representing current projects and safety training and initiatives.
Other related duties as determined from time to time and communicated to the employee.
Essential Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of interpreting architectural, engineering and civil drawings
Knowledge of construction industry terms and operations
Skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships
Communicates effectively both orally and written
Independent decision-making experience
Strong attention to detail
Minimum Education /Equivalent Experience RequirementsDegree in Construction Management preferred.
Advanced knowledge in interpreting building blueprints, including estimating
Strong computer skills and a knowledge of construction software such as Timberline and Microsoft Project
Experience working with 3rd party developers and state and local officials is preferred
Good communication skills
A minimum of 1 year of construction experience required
OSHA training and GSWCC 1 preferred
Experience in both areas of site improvements and vertical construction preferred
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentAbility to work safely at a job site around on-going construction activities and various weather conditions;
Ability to walk and climb steps;
Ability to work long hours as needed.
Construction work site typically located in a field office trailer.
