Renewyx is representing a heavy civil and transportation construction firm based in the St. Louis metro area, specializing in heavy highway and civil projects.
The firm is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to manage union laborers and operators across active job sites. This is a heavy civil role covering pipework, bridges, road work, excavation, pile driving, dirt work, storm and sanitary systems, and erosion control. You’ll oversee crew scheduling, day-to-day site operations and safety, materials and equipment approval, and coordination with the Project Manager and field staff.
You’ll also represent the company at weekly Owner’s meetings and manage progress reporting.
- Ability to manage and lead a crew of operators and laborers
- Working knowledge of pipework, bridges, road work, excavation, pile driving, dirt work, storm and sanitary systems, and erosion control
- General understanding of reading plans and specifications, and IDOT/MODOT standard specifications
- Familiarity with pay items and job costing
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job and Heavy Bid
- Trimble GPS experience
- Based in St. Louis metro, with project sites across Missouri and Illinois, up to roughly 4 hours out
- Some assignments require travel, typically in 2 to 3 month stretches
- Home every weekend while traveling
- $220 per diem on travel days, plus company vehicle and gas card
- $100,000 to $150,000 base
