Position: Teacher - Science (Middle School), 2026-27
Teacher Science (Middle School)  This position is responsible for providing engaging and effective classroom instruction and training in science education to middle school students. The teacher will foster a dynamic learning environment that promotes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated, both individually and collaboratively.
Plan and implement a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students using data-driven decision-making.
Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
Prepare well-organized and differentiated lesson plans aligned with the board-approved curriculum and submit written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
Encourage students to develop and maintain high standards of classroom behavior, mutual respect, and active participation.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish and communicate clear learning objectives to students for all lessons and units.
Employ a variety of research-based instructional strategies, including technology integration, project-based learning, and personalized learning approaches, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the diverse needs and capabilities of individuals or student groups.
Collaborate effectively with administrators, colleagues, parents, and the community to support student success.
Implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education, instructional goals and objectives, and commitment to serving all students effectively.
Assess student learning through various methods, including formative and summative assessments, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Evaluate the learning progress and challenges of students on a regular basis, utilizing data to inform instruction and seeking assistance from District specialists as needed and/or required.
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress, attendance, and grades, as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and develop clear expectations for classroom behavior and procedures that are consistently enforced in a fair and appropriate manner.
Maintain open communication and provide accessibility to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) where applicable.
Engage in continuous professional development to enhance pedagogical skills, content knowledge, and understanding of current educational trends and technologies.
Attend staff meetings, participate in professional learning communities, and serve on staff committees as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum:
Bachelor's degree;
Missouri teacher certificate in science 6-8.
Preferred:
Master's degree and 3 years of successful teaching experience.
