The Carl Perkins Coordinator serves as a key partner in advancing equitable and high-quality career and technical education (CTE) opportunities for all learners. This role champions student success by ensuring programs are responsive to diverse needs and aligned with industry and community priorities. The position is responsible for collaboratively overseeing Carl

D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act funds to strengthen and expand inclusive CTE programs that empower students to achieve their academic and career goals.

  • Administer and ensure compliance with Carl Perkins grant requirements for the College, fostering equitable access and success for all learners.
  • Communicate and translate grant information in clear, accessible ways for faculty, staff, and program coordinators to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Collaboratively develop programs, services, and policies that meet grant requirements.
  • Prepare and submit the Carl Perkins Special Populations budget, assess needs, and recommend strategies that advance and meet grant requirements.
  • Engage directly with students to understand their goals, assess needs, and connect them to resources that remove barriers to success.
  • Provide students with clear information about Perkins program benefits, eligibility, and how to access services.
  • Ensure completion of required state reports on Perkins activities, accomplishments, and needs, as well as success and accountability reports that include graduation and tutoring outcomes in an effort to prioritize transparency and accountability.
  • Collect and maintain data on Special Populations students, including services provided, Maintaining records in strict compliance with FERPA.
  • Analyze and report statistical data from Perkins-funded service providers to measure impact and outcomes.
  • Supervise Perkins-funded staff, paraprofessionals, and tutors, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Identify, support, and conduct outreach to students eligible for Special Populations assistance, ensuring equitable access to resources.
  • Innovate and implement new methods to meet the evolving needs of special populations students.
  • Coordinate procurement and distribution of supplies and materials that support student learning and success.
  • Collaborate with vocational faculty and Perkins personnel to plan and deliver inclusive professional development opportunities.
  • Represent the College at local, campus, state and regional conferences, to share knowledge and advocate for Perkins best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the College’s mission of student success and equity.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-3 years of related work experience working with grants and compliance, student support services, or program coordination required.
