OAI has an immediate opening for a Teacher Assistant at the Willow Springs Head Start Center in Willow Springs, Missouri.

Rate of Pay: $15.13 minimum per hour for non-credentialed staff; $16.21 for credentialed staff/$TBD Classification: C-8 (36 – 40 hours when school is in session);
Benefits after 90 days.

OBJECTIVES

To assist and support the classroom teacher in promoting social, emotional, and educational development of children and to provide support and guidance to parents and families in order to integrate classroom activities with home activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Teacher Assistant Non-Credentialed Range 14:
Does not meet the education requirement items listed below.

Teacher Assistant Credentialed Range 13:
High School Diploma or HiSet;
Preschool CDA requirement.

Teacher Assistant I:
Entry Level Range 12:
Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Equivalent Coursework that meets Head Start Performance Standards;

Note:

Infant/Toddler Specific coursework required for EHS placement.

Teacher Assistant II:
Mid-Level Range 11:
Baccalaureate Degree in Early Childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 Early Childhood credits;
Alternative Equivalent coursework that meets or exceeds Head Start Performance Standards.

Teacher Assistant III:
Advanced Level Range 10:
Master’s Degree in Early childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 Early Childhood credits. Alternative Equivalent coursework approved that meets or exceeds the Head Start Performance Standards.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet established child development outcomes;
  • Ensure compliance with program regulations and standards;
  • Provide child transportation;
  • Maintain records;
  • Contribute to team effort;
  • Teamplayer: promote Head Start program; develop professional and technical knowledge.
