Job Description

Bring your dedication and experience as a paraprofessional to a dynamic, per diem opportunity supporting students across 33 schools in North Kansas City. This contract role involves providing crucial classroom and 1:1 support, primarily in Special Education settings. You'll assist with behavioral interventions, implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and may be called on for toileting support. Flexibility is key—the schedule and location vary day-to-day, filling in for contractor call outs communicated directly through an easy-to-use app.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with behavioral or special needs in either classroom aide or 1:1 settings
• Implement teacher and team guidance, including BIPs, to facilitate student growth
• Collaborate with school staff to maintain a positive learning environment
• Provide basic care, including toileting as necessary
• Adapt quickly to various school settings and student needs

Qualifications:

• Active substitute certification (SUB cert) on file with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or actively in process (must be active prior to start)
• Experience working within K-12 schools, particularly in behavior or special education support roles
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting per district requirements
• Comfort working across elementary, middle, or high school sites as assigned
• Tech-savvy enough to use a scheduling/app-based process for shift selection

• Opportunity to work anywhere from 1 to 5 days a week on an as-needed basis; no guaranteed hours
