Position Summary:The Controller & Administrative Manager oversees all accounting, financial, and administrative operations. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, cash management, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and basic HR processes. Working closely with ownership and leadership, this position plays a key role in strengthening systems, controls, and reporting while supporting informed business decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities Finance & Accounting- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Prepare monthly financial statements and clearly explain results to ownership and leadership
- Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and banking relationships
- Maintain, improve, and document financial systems and internal controls
- Lead and manage accounting systems, including Quick Books Desktop and Online
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline finance and administrative workflows
- Lead or support finance and administrative staff as needed
Provide financial insights to support pricing, budgeting, forecasting, and major business decisions
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, time and attendance coordination, recordkeeping, and compliance with wage and hour and employment regulations
- Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement contributions
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, renewals, and vendor relationships with brokers and third‑party administrators
- Coordinate payroll processing and collaborate with external accountants and tax preparers
- Support employee relations and basic HR administration needs
- Five or more years of hands‑on accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Strong experience with Quick Books Desktop and Online
- Solid understanding of small‑business accounting and financial reporting
- Demonstrated success in improving processes, strengthening controls, and automating workflows
- Proficiency in Excel, including models, pivot tables, and ad hoc analysis
- Ability to analyze financial data and communicate results clearly
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and trusted with sensitive information
- Comfortable working directly with owners and senior leadership
- Familiarity with payroll, benefits administration, and basic HR processes
- Background in trades, service‑based businesses, or family‑owned organizations
