Critical Care Nurse in Columbia, MO

This opportunity is well suited for an experienced ICU nurse with expertise in neuro and stroke care. The role requires a licensed RN with a minimum of two years of ICU experience, including familiarity with neuro checklists and stroke protocols. Certified in ACLS and BLS, with CPI certification preferred, the candidate should be prepared to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license with at least 2 years of ICU experience
• Strong knowledge of neuro assessment and stroke patient care
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; CPI preferred
• Ability to float between ICU and Med Surg units
• Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:2
• Physical ability to ambulate, reach, and safely handle objects over 20 lbs
• Flexibility to work rotating night shifts and during inclement weather

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and Med Surg units
• Perform neuro assessments and manage stroke interventions according to established protocols
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain safety standards and follow infection control practices, including working with patients who have contagious illnesses
• Work 12-hour night shifts (7 PM to 7:30 AM), every third night, including every other weekend and at least 50% of holidays during the contract

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
