Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Location: St. Louis, MO (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Our Fortune 1000 Credit Services client is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive the technical vision and execution of next-generation agentic AI systems that transform the claims lifecycle. In this role, you will architect, build, and scale AI-powered solutions used by millions, while mentoring teams and shaping best practices across engineering and MLOps.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of AI innovation, cloud-native architecture, and production-grade reliability.

• Design & Deploy Agentic AI Systems
• Architect, build, and deploy advanced AI agents using Lang Chain, Lang Graph
  , or similar frameworks to automate complex decision-making workflows.
• Develop and refine prompts, memory, and contextual frameworks to maximize model accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
• Prototype and integrate cutting-edge models,
  RAG architectures
  , and emerging agentic frameworks to solve unique business challenges.
• Build & Operate at Scale on GCP
• Deploy and operate AI systems in production environments on Google Cloud Platform, supporting applications that impact millions of users.
• Champion MLOps & Observability
• Establish best practices for monitoring, reliability, and observability using tools such as Langfuse
  , ensuring production-grade performance.
• Partner closely with product leaders, data scientists, and engineers while mentoring and developing cross-functional engineering teams.
• Define and track engineering metrics (
  SLA, SLO, SLI
  ), ensure alignment with Dev Sec Ops  and Fin Ops
  , and lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate with Clarity
• Deliver technical presentations and maintain clear documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership on scalable, production systems
• Hands-on experience building and integrating AI/ML solutions in production environments
• Direct experience with Lang Chain, Lang Graph
  , or similar LLM orchestration frameworks
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architectures
• Experience with LLM observability tools (e.g., Langfuse)
• Solid background in:
