Database Administrator

The DBA will be responsible for partnering with architects and technical leaders to provide performance tuning and implementation support for PRISM, a large high-volume Oracle database. The role also contributes to the design and implementation of the database strategy for its cloud-based replacement. Additional responsibilities include ensuring performant database code, assisting with data tracing, database maintenance, and serving as a subject matter expert.

Job Responsibilities:

• Optimize performance for a large, high-volume Oracle database (PRISM)
• Partner with architects, engineers, and analysts on performance tuning, data tracing, and design
• Provide database expertise in the development of a cloud-based replacement system
• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools to monitor and tune database performance
• Collaborate with IT teams for regular maintenance and performance improvements
• Ensure best practices for security are implemented in all database activities
• Document processes, strategies, and architecture as needed
• Stay current with trends in database technology and cloud migrations

• 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience with a strong focus on performance tuning
• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Expertise in Oracle, PL/SQL, and tuning tools
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact across organizational levels
• Excellent teamwork, decision-making, and documentation skills
• Security-minded in approach to all technical responsibilities
• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and try new technologies

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Professional experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS and Azure
• Experience as a DBA with PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Data Governance best practices
