Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Azure Cloud – Senior Database Architect to support our client in a secure environment.
The Database Cloud Architect will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, specifically in cloud database products and the platforms they integrate, with a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and services. As a Database Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure-compatible databases, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and architectural integrity while guiding other architects and engineers.
The role will involve designing, building, integrating, and migrating from on-prem or legacy cloud implementations to a secure cloud environment in a fast‑paced setting.

Job Responsibilities- Leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex cloud and cloud infrastructure solutions that meet Government requirements.
- Develop and implement relational/non-relational databases and database services based on best practices.
- Ensure that database design and implementation is scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Ensure that database design is compliant with classified infrastructure requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise and hands‑on experience in database design, solutioning, implementation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Expertise in creating, implementing and maintaining Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes in various environments.
- Experience leading large‑scale cloud migrations.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to detect and diagnose issues in the cloud infrastructure and software applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other architects and engineers.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and common services and make recommendations for their use.
- Expertise with Terraform, ARM, Ansible, Power Shell, Bash, and Python.
- Expertise with containerized application and orchestration.
- Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, reliable cloud‑based solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with DOD STIG compliance.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture solutions.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have active Top‑Secret Clearance or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working in complex cloud IT/Infrastructure environments.
- Extensive experience in cloud architecture, specifically Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) products with a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and services.
- Experience working with DOD or other Federal Government environments.
- Must have active Azure Solution Architect certification.
- Active certification in Azure Data or Oracle Data.
- Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment and tooling.
- Ability to prioritize and display a high level of adaptability/flexibility while handling job responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, think creatively about the big picture, and a dedicated do‑er.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment and provide hands‑on technical support.
- OS:
Linux (RHEL Oracle), Windows (10, 11, Server 2012‑2022). - Experience with automated testing tools (pytest, unittest, Selenium, Postman, Terratest).
