Job Summary

This position is responsible for the production design of custom cabinetry for dental clinics, supporting the entire manufacturing process through accurate technical drawings, CNC data preparation, engineering documentation, production support, and quality related activities.

Job Description

The role includes new product cabinet development, assisting with production scheduling, and preparing estimates for custom products and replacement parts. It requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Production Design (Core Responsibility)
  • Design and create production drawings for custom dental cabinetry.
  • Develop cabinet structures that meet the requirements of clinical environments (sanitation, durability, equipment placement, workflow).
  • Select appropriate materials, hardware, and construction methods.
  • Produce and modify CAD drawings and CAM/CNC programs for manufacturing.
  • Improve design for manufacturability and incorporate feedback from the production floor.
Quotation (Custom Products & Replacement Parts)
  • Prepare quotation with drawing for custom cabinetry and replacement components.
  • Review specifications and determine required materials and processing steps.
Engineering Documentation
  • Prepare travelers, pick lists, and other production documents.
  • Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Maintain drawings, specifications, and technical databases.
  • Perform additional engineering or administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Production Floor Support
  • Respond to technical questions from manufacturing staff.
  • Prepare and explain technical documents needed for assembly and fabrication.
  • Analyze issues occurring during machining or assembly and propose solutions.
  • Update drawings and specifications based on production feedback.
Quality Management and Improvement
  • Investigate the root cause of quality issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions, including communication with customers.
  • Improve design or process elements to reduce defects.
Production Scheduling Support
  • Assist the production team with planning and coordinating schedules.
  • Prepare necessary design information, drawings, and documentation for scheduling.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in cabinet manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of woodworking (materials, construction, hardware, and machinery).
  • Ability to create and interpret mechanical and woodworking drawings.
  • Practical skills in 2D and 3D CAD design software (Cabinet Vision and Solid Works).
  • Practical experience with woodworking CAD/CAM software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Educational background in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing cabinetry for dental clinics or medical facilities.
  • Understanding of CNC machinery.
  • Experience in quality assurance, quality control, or production improvement.
  • Experience with manufacturing process optimization or standardization.
