Quality Control Technician

Promote quality management throughout the plant to assure product quality levels are consistent with corporate standards and that products and technical services meet customer expectations. Continual improvement of manufacturing processes to increase quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies. Satisfy regulatory agency requirements and reduce product liability by managing the corporate quality program at the local level.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5+ years experience in production of product, experience working with QC functions preferred. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or five years of pipe manufacturing or Quality Control experience. Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Have ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and gloves. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
