With approximately 100 employees, the company has built its reputation on quality craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and long‑term customer relationships. Leadership is highly engaged in the day‑to‑day operation of the business, creating a collaborative environment where engineering works closely with production to solve challenges and improve manufacturing performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established organization that values hands‑on problem solving, innovation, and employee longevity.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering resource supporting the welding department and daily production operations.
  • Design, develop, and improve welding fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing processes to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for robotic MIG welding, along with MIG, TIG, spot, and flash welding operations.
  • Troubleshoot production, equipment, and quality issues on the manufacturing floor while working directly with welders, operators, maintenance personnel, and production leadership.
  • Set up, test, and optimize welding equipment and manufacturing machinery to maximize uptime and operational performance.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for reducing scrap, rework, downtime, and overall production costs.
  • Perform quality evaluations and verify products consistently meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, tooling vendors, and outside suppliers on engineering projects and process improvements.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support for manufacturing‑related discussions when needed.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, process standards, and work instructions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, productivity, and overall manufacturing excellence.
  • Balance day‑to‑day production support with long‑term engineering projects that improve plant operations and manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required or years of experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience supporting robotic MIG welding within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, spot welding, flash welding, and metal fabrication. Experience designing welding fixtures, tooling, work holding solutions, and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, production operations, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar software.
  • Experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, or other CAD software is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotic welding systems, welding programming, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Candidates should be hands‑on engineers who enjoy spending significant time on the production floor and thrive in a collaborative manufacturing environment rather than a traditional office‑based engineering role.
