The Missouri Workers Center is an organization of low-wage workers, Black, white and brown, urban and rural, dedicated to fighting racism and winning economic justice for all.
Purpose of Position
The Missouri Workers Center seeks an Organizing Coordinator to support our efforts in the full-service restaurant industry, Amazon facilities, and gig worker campaigns. Reporting to the Organizing Director, this role will strengthen campaign execution, support worker organizers and lead organizers, and help build statewide worker power.
Primary Responsibilities
- Mentor and support worker organizers and lead organizers in field campaigns.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide performance feedback, and help develop skills and leadership capacity.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for organizing staff. Support onboarding and orientation of new organizer team members.
- Assist in developing and implementing campaign strategies, timelines, and field work plans.
- Help track campaign budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Support development and facilitation of training sessions and strategy meetings.
- Lead organizing team meetings and facilitate skill-building workshops.
- Maintain accurate data tracking for campaign activities, organizer output, and metrics.
- Produce regular campaign progress reports for the Organizing Director.
- Collaborate with communications, political, and research staff to integrate campaign work.
- Help build relationships with community and coalition partners to advance campaigns.
- Coordinate organizer assignments, troubleshoot field challenges.
- Support campaign escalations, mobilizations, and events.
Education & Experience
- 3–5 years of labor, community, or political organizing experience required.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a lead organizer or supervisory role (e.g., mentoring organizers, running committees, coordinating campaigns). Demonstrated track record in campaign strategy, leadership development, and collective action.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor or develop organizing staff.
- Experience with campaign strategy planning, reporting, or data tracking.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel within Missouri.
- Commitment to building a multi-racial workers’ movement.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a car; smartphone required (stipend provided).
