Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level 1 trauma setting, requiring a MO or compact RN license and ACLS & PALS certifications.
Responsibilities
• Work in a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and STEMI Emergency Department
• Includes coverage for a pediatric ED within the main ED
• Floating required between ED and ED Observation units
• Rotating 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 to 19:15, including every other weekend
• Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• Cerner EMR is used; experience is preferred but not required
• Candidates may encounter patients with contagious illnesses
• The facility operates 24/7, requiring flexibility for rotating shifts and work during inclement weather
• First-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience will be considered
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and may be offered a reduced rate
• Must provide requested time off (RTO) at application for approval
• Free, onsite CPI course available for those needing certification
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the contract obligations
Requirements
• Active MO or compact RN license must be in hand for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in emergency nursing
• Previous Level 1 trauma experience required for first-time travelers
• Certifications required: ACLS and PALS
• CPI certification is preferred
• Ability to meet physical demands, including regular ambulation and lifting/moving objects over 20 lbs
