Shift: Day – 3x12 Hours (06:45 AM – 07:15 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holidays: Must work 50% of holidays during contract
Float: Required (ED & ED Observation)
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma Emergency Department. This facility is a comprehensive Stroke and STEMI center with an embedded Pediatric ED within the main department. The RN will provide direct patient care across all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
This is an excellent opportunity for RNs with strong trauma experience who thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable floating between ED and ED Observation units.
Roles & Responsibilities- Provide emergency nursing care in a Level I Trauma Center with 200+ daily visits
- Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity
- Administer IV medications including vasopressors and continuous sedation
- Initiate and maintain IV access and perform phlebotomy
- Monitor and manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP
- Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac emergencies
- Administer blood products and procedural sedation
- Provide care for trauma, stroke (CVA), STEMI, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and TBI patients
- Manage pediatric emergency cases including head injuries and near drowning
- Maintain central lines and arterial lines (preferred experience)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, IV teams, and rapid response teams
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Float between ED and ED Observation as required
- Level I Trauma, Stroke & STEMI Center
- 58-bed Emergency Department
- 200+ patient visits per day
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
- Self-Scheduling
- Teaching Hospital experience preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Interdisciplinary support available
- Active Missouri RN License or Compact License (in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years overall RN experience.
- Minimum 1 year ER specialty experience.
- Experience in Trauma Level I or II preferred
- AHA - BLS, ACLS,and PALS
- TNCC
CPI – Preferred
