Digestive Care Center is seeking a Check Out Clerk for our Jasper Office. The primary responsibilities include scheduling outpatient procedures such as X-rays, lab work and tests, and to coordinate scheduling of procedures with the scheduling department.

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical office experience preferred.

• Efficiently schedules patient procedures, tests, and lab work such as x-rays, MRI’s CT scans etc. as ordered by physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Accommodates physician and nurse practitioner scheduling preferences.
• Reviews history and medications with patient to ascertain correct prep for patient, and communicates any medication changes that may be required.
• Accurately enters data into gMed.
• Promptly and accurately removes/moves scheduled procedures in gMed when moved/cancelled to keep schedule current at all times.
• Responds to incoming ancillary scheduling requests as calls are received.
• Promptly returns calls from voice mail.
• Schedules patients in appropriate facility in order for patient to receive maximum insurance coverage & reimbursement.
• Coordinates scheduling of procedures with the scheduling department.
• Initiates referrals to physicians and medical centers for consults and follow up.
• Collaborates with call center to ensure correct hold times for patient’s medication.
• Responds to requests from physicians, nurse practitioners, patients and families in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with Medical Records to obtain missing information.
