Position: Registered Nurse (RN) -  Core Charge position - Missouri Orthopaedic Institute In-Patient - Full Time Days

Charge Nurse

Shift: Full Time Weekend Days (7a-7:30p), 3 12s/week, requires rotating holidays Department:
Missouri Orthopaedic Institute Inpatient (Ortho) Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $34.46 - $51.02 per hour, based on experience
  • Shift Differentials:
    • Additional $3.00 per hour for Core Charge
    • Additional $8.00 per hour for RN Weekend Program Sat/Sun Shifts
  • Sign-On Bonus: $25,000
  • Note:

    Details will be provided during the HR interview. Policy language is available upon request.

Detailed Job Description

Provides clinical patient care within the scope of a Registered Nurse, including assessment of condition, goal setting, and nursing actions to meet the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.

Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses patient self-report and symptoms of pain promptly, utilizing an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.

Demonstrates an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects. Report pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educates patients and patients' chosen support person(s) about medications.

Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.

Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of MU Health Care and assigned nursing unit.

Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. resident physician, ancillary support teams) and records those observations accurately and concisely.

Coordinates daily staffing assignments based on patient acuity and unit needs.

Adjusts staffing levels as necessary throughout the shift to maintain safe patient care standards.

Ensures smooth patient flow and efficient bed management within the unit.

Coordinates admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients as needed.

Responds to clinical emergencies or critical incidents within the unit.
