Position Summary

The Senior Compliance Support Specialist supports the organization’s compliance, quality assurance, and risk management functions within services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day compliance activities including incident management, investigations, rights restrictions tracking, documentation monitoring, and support of quality improvement efforts.

The Senior Compliance Support Specialist serves as an operational partner to program and compliance leadership by ensuring timely follow-up on compliance issues, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. This role helps maintain a culture of safety, dignity, accountability, and person-centered practices while supporting continuous improvement across services.

  • Support compliance with federal, state, waiver, accreditation, and agency standards related to service delivery, individual rights, documentation, and health and safety.
  • Monitor required documentation across programs for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Assist with internal audits and routine compliance reviews of service records, incident reports, and related documentation.
  • Identify and elevate potential compliance concerns, trends, or risks to compliance leadership.
  • Coordinate review, tracking, and follow‑up of incident reports, including allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, misappropriation of funds; injuries of unknown origin; and other reportable events.
  • Conduct or assist with internal investigations and fact‑finding reviews in accordance with agency policy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation related to investigations, incident reviews, and outcomes.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Track and maintain documentation related to rights restrictions, due process approvals, and related oversight requirements.
  • Ensure required documentation for restrictions and behavioral supports is complete, current, and compliant.
  • Support preparation and facilitation of due process committee activities as assigned.
  • Monitor trends in rights restrictions and support identification of less restrictive alternatives.
  • Collect and organize compliance and quality data from incidents, investigations, restrictions, grievances, and other sources.
  • Assist in identifying patterns and trends that indicate systemic risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Support development and tracking of corrective action plans and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support and technical assistance to staff regarding compliance processes, documentation requirements, incident reporting, and rights protections.
  • Assist with training materials related to compliance, investigations, and person‑centered practices.
  • Support education efforts for individuals receiving services regarding rights and reporting processes using accessible, person‑centered materials.
  • Serve as a liaison between program areas and compliance leadership to ensure timely resolution of compliance‑related issues.
  • Assist with preparation for audits, accreditation surveys, and regulatory reviews.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as directed, including regulatory agencies when appropriate.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, accountability, and person‑centered supports.
