About the Position
We are seeking a Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of Homogenizer systems for customers across Canada and internationally. The role requires regular travel, technical troubleshooting, documentation of repairs, and client engagement to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Your Responsibilities- Coordinate and perform installation and commissioning of new Homogenizers sold to customers.
- Provide technical support and maintenance for Homogenizers.
- Travel to customer sites to service Homogenizer systems in compliance with GEA Safe operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
- Train customers and employees on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Assist third‑party partners with project execution activities.
- Participate in auditing and monitoring GEA equipment on customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance, emergency service, and warranty work on GEA’s product lines.
- Collect and analyze data with measuring equipment; test systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.
- Maintain records of repairs and maintenance per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for new products, product improvements, and service tools.
- Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.
- Build parts lists for customers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair GEA equipment at customer sites; investigate problems and recommend repairs or upgrades.
- Perform preventative maintenance services and complete required service reports.
- Work necessary hours, including reasonable overtime, to satisfy customer needs or complete tasks.
- Follow up with customers and affiliates as required.
- Research to provide customers with correct parts, diagrams, documents, etc.
- Contribute to team effort by completing all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- 5 to 7 years experience in mechanical equipment servicing or a related field.
- Professional or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Millwright, or a similar discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Homogenizer systems; experience with mechanically related equipment is an advantage.
- Process and electrical knowledge and experience are advantageous.
- PLC (Allen Bradley preferred) and programming/control panel experience is a plus.
- Travel required:
at least 75% of the role involves travel across Canada; international travel for training or other requirements may be required. - Valid passport and eligibility to work in Canada and the United States.
- Ability to accommodate flexible working schedules.
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
