DescriptionWe are seeking a Foster Care Case Management Specialist to join our team. Starting Salary: $46,000 - $50,000 (Salary) Your role will exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions on the overall management and delivery of services to children on their caseload, aimed at achieving safety and permanency. You will coordinate and facilitate activities within the Family Support Team context, working towards moving the child to a permanent home.
You will serve as the legal guardian of the children on their caseload, making decisions and recommendations—occasionally on an emergency basis—to ensure the safety and welfare of those children. As a member of the MO Foster Care team, you will work with 7 other team members and report to our Manager of Foster Care Case Management.
- Manage and provide services to children and families who have been referred under the Foster Care Case Management Contract.
- Continually analyze and assess each family and child situation on an individual basis, using advanced knowledge in the area of child welfare to develop recommendations regarding support services and resources that each child and family may need, such as educational plans, medical, psychiatric, and psychological assessments, therapy, independent living skills, etc.
- Facilitate service planning with the child, family, and other Family Support Team (FST) members in accordance with Cornerstones of Care, MACF & CD policy.
- Coordinate any supportive services and resources that children under case management services may need to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Assist the family in cultivating natural and informal family and community supports which can help the family to achieve safety and permanency for children.
Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the child welfare arena and the following:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice or other human services related field is required.
- Master's degree in social work or other human services related field and case management experience are preferred.
- At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening
- A valid driver's license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
