Road Maintenance Worker - CDL Driver

Boone County, located in Columbia, MO, is looking for a Road Maintenance Worker. Responsibilities include semi-skilled maintenance operation pertaining to the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of County streets, storm drainage, facilities, and systems. Occasional operation of a variety of equipment.

Status:
Full-time, non-exempt, benefited

Working hours:

6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon.

-Thurs.; OR 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon.

-Fri.; must be able to work either shift and be available for emergency storm response.

Minimum qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and one-year equipment operations or construction experience;
Missouri driver's license; must receive a passing grade on the written portion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam within 6 months of hire and be able to pass the driving portion of the Class B with air brakes CDL exam within 12 months of hire. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Proof of a valid driver's license is required at time of application.

Preferred qualifications:

Class B CDL with Air Brakes. Two years of road construction experience.

Starting hourly pay rate: $19.69 (no CDL) - $22.77 (with CDL) per hour to start. Systematic pay increases up to $23.46 as early as 6 months based upon CDL status when hired.
