The Accounting intern will provide support, take on challenges and work with multiple tiers of leadership at Rohde & Schwarz to ensure the timely completion of the year-end audit and support the evolving continuous improvement initiatives of the group. Working with the accounting, finance and tax groups, you will help identify and move the organization toward best practices. During your internship, you will develop your leadership style, strengthen your analytical skills, and refine your presentation skills.

This internship is open to begin before summer break and continue on during the school year.

Your tasks

* General ledger account reconciliations
· Month-end close and financial reporting
· Vendor validation and documentation
· Prepare and post journal entries
· Provide support for year-end accounting functions and auditor preparation

Your qualifications

* Must have completed at least 2 college-level accounting courses

* Rising junior or senior pursuing bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance

* Must be in good academic standing (GPA > 3.4)
· Willingness to dig in and solve problems in a fast-paced environment

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Proven understanding of transactional accounting and entries

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Interns will be located on site in Columbia, MD.

* Relocation and housing are not provided.

* To be considered, candidates must be located in the DC/MD area and have US citizenship or permanent work authorization.

This is an hourly position, paying $22-$27/hour, minimum of 30 hours per week.
