Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations in Columbia, South Carolina. This position is ideal for someone with or seeking general ledger experience who will manage month-end activities, prepare reconciliations, and help maintain compliance with audit and reporting standards. The successful candidate will work across core accounting processes to ensure timely entries, dependable records, and consistent financial accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end closing tasks by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure financial results are finalized on time.
• Record and post journal entries with supporting documentation to maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and supporting proper account classification.
• Perform balance sheet and other account reconciliations, investigating variances and correcting issues as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related reports for internal review and external requirements.
• Support financial statement audit activities by organizing documentation, answering requests, and coordinating with internal stakeholders, leadership, auditors, and the like
