Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for an onsite team. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling accounts payable activities, managing routine deposits, and keeping financial records accurate and organized. The role offers the opportunity to step into a steady bookkeeping function with seasonal fluctuations in workload and a strong need for consistency and precision.

The main focus is heavy attention to detail and Accounts Payable.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices accurately, assign appropriate coding, and prepare payments in accordance with internal approval procedures.

- Manage weekly check runs and ensure payments are completed on schedule with careful attention to detail.

- Receive, scan, and deposit checks into the appropriate bank account while maintaining complete supporting documentation.

- Assist with accounts receivable and general bookkeeping tasks to keep financial records current and organized.

- Perform bank reconciliations and review transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Maintain accurate financial data within the organization's accounting system and learn internal software tools as needed.

- Support office finance activities during higher-volume periods and help ensure deadlines are met consistently.

Requirements - Prior experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting support role.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment preparation.

- Familiarity with accounts receivable functions and bank reconciliation activities.

- Ability to handle check processing, deposits, and financial recordkeeping with a high level of accuracy.

- Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books or similar platforms.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and dependability in an onsite work environment.
