The Remodel Estimator is a crucial role in the company responsible for estimating the costs associated with Retail Remodel and Rebuild Projects. Their primary duty is to analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documentation to provide accurate cost estimates, ensuring projects are financially viable and completed within budget constraints.
Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements.
Calculate estimated costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, researching and updating cost data as needed.
Conduct a detailed quantity takeoff to determine material and labor requirements for various project components.
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and additional expenses like permits and inspections.
Assist in developing project budgets and provide cost analysis for financial planning.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or methods without compromising quality.
Prepare bid proposals and submit estimates to clients, contractors, and stakeholders promptly.
Maintain accurate records of estimates, project documents, and communication with clients and subcontractors.
Monitor project costs and provide updates to project managers and stakeholders.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to enhance estimate accuracy.
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 or more years' experience in Retail Remodel / Retail Construction
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
