Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician Opportunity Columbia VA Health Care System (Columbia, SC)
The Columbia VA Health Care System (WJB Dorn VA Medical Center) is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care Physicians to provide onsite services to our nation s Veterans. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality care in a state-of-the-art facility while serving those who have served our country.
Position Highlights:
Specialty: Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
Location: Columbia VA Health Care System, 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209
Schedule:
Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (minimum two physicians onsite daily)
Operating days:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.Physicians must arrive at least 20 minutes before scheduled shifts
On-call coverage may be required evenings, weekends, and holidays (physicians must remain within 30 minutes of facility when on-call)
On-call physicians must be available within 15 minutes by phone and onsite within 30 minutes if needed
Scope of Practice:
Full spectrum of Pulmonary and Critical Care services, consistent with national standards set by the American College of Chest Physicians
Direct patient care for eligible Veterans
Timely consults, evaluations, and documentation per VA requirements
Collaboration with VA staff, residents, and fellows
On-call responsibilities for urgent/critical cases outside regular hours
Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine (ABIM)
Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (or equivalent)
Active, unrestricted medical license (any U.S. state acceptable)
Strong commitment to Veteran care and adherence to VA clinical standards
