Locum Tenens Pulmonologist Columbia VA Health Care System

Position Overview We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonologist to provide on-site locum tenens services at the Columbia VA Health Care System. This opportunity offers a meaningful role in caring for Veterans while working in a collaborative hospital environment.
Requirements Board Certification/Eligibility:
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Pulmonary Disease
Certifications:
Current BLS and ACLS (or equivalency); must maintain all continuing education requirements
Licensure:
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
Documentation:
Proof of certifications and credentials must be provided annually to the VA Contracting Officers Representative (COR)
Schedule Clinic
Hours:
oMonday
Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.oOperating days:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.Shift Arrival:
Providers must report at least 20 minutes prior to their scheduled start time.
Staffing Requirement: A minimum of two physicians on-site daily.
On-Call Coverage:oEvenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.oMust remain within 30 minutes of the facility when on call.oProviders must be available by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 30 minutes if called back.oDocumentation of patient evaluations during on-call incidents must be completed within 24 hours or the next business day.
Responsibilities Provide timely, high-quality pulmonary care in accordance with VA rules and regulations, including clinic wait times and consult completion standards.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with pulmonary conditions in both scheduled and emergent situations.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in patient medical available for consultations with VA residents and physicians during on-call periods.
Collaborate with the VA care team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate treatment for all patients.
