Program Support Coordinator- CarolinaLIFE
Under the general supervision of the CarolinaLIFE Program Director and Assistant Director, the Program Support Coordinator supports the coordination day-to-day program operations, student supports, and employment programming while providing administrative and instructional support to advance the mission of CarolinaLIFE. The Program Support Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for interested and newly admitted students, families, faculty, employers, and campus partners;
supervises and supports student coaches; teaches a CarolinaLIFE course; coordinates freshman employment experiences; monitors student progress; and assists with program events, communications, data management, and strategic initiatives. This position promotes student success through collaborative, student-centered support, professional leadership, and flexible assistance across all program areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Required (Special Education or related field)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Required (Special Education or related field), experience with Inclusive Post-Secondary Education programming. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to establish professional working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, employers, and the general public. Competent knowledge of inclusive programming, self-determination, model of typicality, confidentiality. Competent ability with technology including use of computers, email, Zoom, SharePoint, MS word, etc.
Coordinate day-to-day program operations and student supports. Within this role, the Program Support Coordinator will:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for interested/potential students and families, faculty, and campus partners regarding routine program questions and student support needs.
- Assist with supervising assigned student coaches, including in the Social Engagement Domain, including conducting weekly meetings, providing ongoing training, monitoring documentation, and ensuring quality student supports across assigned program domains.
- Coordinate coach schedules and student support assignments in collaboration with the Assistant Director and other CarolinaLIFE professional staff.
- Monitor student progress related to academics, independent living, social engagement, and employment, communicating concerns and successes to the administrative team.
- Attend weekly administrative meetings, student support meetings, and coach supervision meetings.
- Assist in coordinating student orientations, beginning-of-semester meetings, family events, recruitment events, transition fairs, and other CarolinaLIFE activities.
- Maintain timely documentation of student supports, coaching notes, and communication with families and campus partners.
- Respond to drop-in student concerns and assist with implementing individualized support plans in collaboration with CarolinaLIFE professional staff.
- Support student participation in campus activities, university events, and inclusive experiences.
- Assist with program logistics including scheduling meetings, coordinating room reservations, and preparing instructional and student materials.
Support the Employment Domain, including teaching CarolinaLIFE courses. Within this role, the Program Support Coordinator will:
- Coordinate and oversee freshman job-shadowing experiences, including identifying placements, communicating with campus and community partners, and ensuring successful student participation.
- Support employment coaches assigned to freshman employment experiences through regular communication, guidance, and observation.
- Maintain documentation related to freshman employment experiences, including student evaluations, employer feedback, and required program data.
- Collaborate with the Employment Coordinator to ensure continuity between freshman employment exploration and later internship and employment experiences.
- Assist students in developing foundational employment skills including workplace communication, professionalism, self-advocacy, and career exploration.
