CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge Team in Columbia, SC, where you'll play a key role in designing, evaluating, and delivering innovative structural solutions. From rehabilitation to new structures, you'll contribute to projects that enhance safety, improve mobility, and support the long‑term resilience of our nation's bridge network while mentoring engineers and shaping high‑quality technical delivery.

What

You'll Do
  • Provide advanced judgment and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for bridge projects
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure
  • Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost‑effective solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency with bridge design and modeling software (LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office required
  • Specific experience with prestressed girder design, bridge replacement, culvert design, and load ratings as well as the ability to sign and seal design documents
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Ability to lead a team and work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range

$100,000 – $120,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
