Spare Parts Coordinator
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Spare Parts Coordinator located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager the Spare Parts Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Materials team, covering the full spectrum of Purchasing, Planning and Inventory management, in order to support the Materials department to achieve maximum cost efficiencies for the business and its customers.
What a typical day looks like:
- Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
- Selects, develops and evaluates materials from work area.
- Evaluates technical and economic factors, recommending engineering and manufacturing actions for attainment of design objectives of process or product by applying knowledge of material science and related technologies.
- Reviews plans for new product and factors, such as strength, weight, and cost to submit material selection recommendations ensuring attainment of design objectives.
- Plans and implements laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfill product cost and performance standards.
- Confers with producers of materials during investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications.
- Reviews product failure data and interprets laboratory tests and analyses to establish or rule out material and process causes.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires 4-6 years of related experience.
- Office
Skills:
telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems. - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Has awareness of Flex techniques
