JOB SUMMARY
This position will support the Human Resources team with daily administrative tasks and various HR initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and data management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Supports the onboarding process by preparing employee orientation materials, conducting background checks, and coordinating new hire activities.
- Maintains and updates employee records in the HR system, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assists with drafting and mailing various notices to employees.
- Helps with organizing employee training sessions, workshops, and HR-related events.
- Leads special HR projects and research initiatives as assigned.
- Assists in responding to employee inquiries and provides administrative support to the HR team as needed.
- Performs general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous internship or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of Human Resources principles, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Skill in the operation of standard office machines, including computer-driven data entry equipment.
- Skill in communicating, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to research program documents and to compile reports from information gathered.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
- Ability to perform various administrative tasks and assignments to support the development of public programming.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The work is sedentary work and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; work may also require crouching, manual dexterity, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, distinguishing among sounds, mental acuity, talking, and walking.
