Computer Operator – Consultant

Contract-to-Hire Duration: 3–6 months (possibility of conversion to Full-Time Employee; not guaranteed) Interview Process:

Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina at their own expense prior to starting the role.
The State of South Carolina is seeking a Computer Operator – Consultant to join the Office of the State Treasurer's IT team. This position supports IT operations and end-user services in a professional, financial/banking environment.
The selected consultant will provide both technical and customer support, ensuring smooth day-to-day technology operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and the ability to manage IT tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Provide IT customer support for end users, including assistance with MS Windows, MS Office, and local/network printing.
- Support conference room A/V connectivity and office network (wired and wireless).
- Perform IT operations functions such as information security audit research, vendor coordination, and asset management/inventory.
- Image and configure computers for deployment.
- Update and maintain team documentation, procedures, and knowledge base.
- Utilize a ticketing system to document and track all work activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of hands-on IT End User Support experience.
Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Windows 10 & 11
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Printer installation and troubleshooting
- Hardware and laptop support
- PC imaging/building and deployment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and dependability in a structured workplace.
CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent)
Experience with:
- End-user network support
- Information security practices
- On-site/in-person IT support
- Microsoft Teams
- Asset management and IT inventory tools
- ITSM/Help Desk ticketing systems
Background in banking, finance, legal, judicial, or accounting environments is a plus.
