IT Business Analyst III

The Department of Administration's (Admin) Division of Enterprise Applications (DEA) is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join the team. We are in growth mode, and it is an exciting time to be a contributing member to SC Enterprise Information System (SCEIS)! SCEIS is the backbone of our business processes and ultimately empowers decision makers to improve government for the citizens.

You will serve as an IT Business Analyst responsible for supporting enterprise business systems, business process analysis, application lifecycle activities, and change and release management across the agency's enterprise application environment.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, and vendors to define requirements, support system implementations, coordinate testing and release activities, and deliver secure, reliable, and effective technology solutions that support organizational objectives and continuous business improvement.

This position is onsite in Columbia, SC. Responsibilities of the IT Business Analyst III include:

  • Collaborate with application lifecycle management, functional, technical, and business teams to execute enterprise testing strategies and project deliverables.
  • Lead business process analysis, requirements gathering, and test planning activities.
  • Partner with the Test Delivery Lead and Test Engineering team to configure and execute enterprise test automation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain formal test plans, scripts, and testing documentation.
  • Develop and maintain application lifecycle management procedures for documenting, organizing, and retaining test scripts and testing artifacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum and additional requirements include:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, management information systems, computer science, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience supporting enterprise information technology environments, business systems analysis, application lifecycle activities, requirements management, system implementations, and cross functional collaboration within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong business process analysis, modeling, documentation, and end-to-end business process support skills.
  • Knowledge of enterprise testing frameworks, QA methodologies, and change/release management practices.
  • Ability to interpret business and technical requirements and develop test plans, scripts, and testing artifacts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business processes, technical systems, and data.
  • Ability to develop metrics, dashboards, and status reports while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced IT environment.
  • Position may require overnight travel.
  • Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations and hazardous weather events.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4

    HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, enterprise change management, release management, and business process modeling.
  • Experience with SAP enterprise applications, SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, or comparable enterprise application lifecycle management.
