The Quality Assurance Analyst – Consultant will support SCDHHS projects in coordination with the Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO establishes and enforces enterprise IT governance, standards, and delivery practices. This role is suited for professionals experienced in healthcare QA, particularly Medicaid systems, and comfortable working in large, change-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities• Translate business requirements and policy documentation into detailed test cases and scenarios
• Develop test plans, QA strategies, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes
• Build and maintain test cases within test management systems
• Ensure SDLC traceability from requirements through testing and deployment
• Execute functional, regression, negative, usability, and UI testing
• Test applications for reliability, stability, and performance
• Design and execute automated testing scripts where applicable
• Participate in defect triage, retesting, and resolution activities
• Prepare QA documentation, metrics, and status reports
• Follow established QA governance, standards, and best practices
• Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections
• Clearly communicate testing status, risks, and defects to development teams
Required Skills (in order of importance)• 5+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
• 5+ years building test cases and scenarios within test systems
• 3+ years of deep knowledge of healthcare operations business processes (Medicaid preferred)
• 3+ years hands-on experience with formal test design tools
• Proficiency in manual and/or automated testing tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Atlassian JIRA, and Confluence
Preferred Skills• 5+ years experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
• 3+ years experience working in both Waterfall (SDLC) and Agile environments
• Healthcare operations experience specifically supporting Medicaid programs
Education• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, healthcare, or related field
• Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education
