Quality Assurance Tester
- Advanced
Position is hybrid in Columbia, SC: 4 days in office, 1 day remote. Candidate must be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.
Scope of the Project:
- The Quality Assurance Tester
- Advanced will be assigned to projects for the Agency, in collaboration with the Agency Project Management Office (PMO). - The PMO is responsible for staffing all Agency projects as well as establishing and monitoring IT related governance and standards, which are followed by all enterprise project teams.

Daily
Duties / Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing tests on technical solutions to isolate and solve issues. Initiates tests, analyzes results, and finds solutions to technical problems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Agency test processes and SDLC tools
- Demonstrate ability to translate functional and technical requirements and technical designs into test cases
- Develop and execute functional and technical test cases under the direction of test leads and senior testers
- Create and maintain SDLC traceability from test cases to requirements and designs/software components; assist in generation of requirement traceability matrices
- Participate in defect triage, retest, and resolution
- Create quality assurance documentation and reports as required
Required Skills (Rank in Order of Importance):
- 2 years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
- 2 years knowledge of manual testing techniques (functional, regression, smoke, usability, boundary testing)
- 3 years deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid), business processes
Preferred Skills (Rank in Order of Importance):
- 2 years' experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
- 3 years' experience using QA tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Test Rail, or similar
- 3 years prior experience working in a standard SDLC (waterfall methodology) & in an AGILE delivery
Required
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, healthcare or related field.
- Years of experience can substitute for formal education.
Required
Certifications:
- None required.
- Technical and/or Project Management certifications from recognized sources are desirable.
Additional Skills/Duties:
- Develop and execute test cases; clearly communicate and document test status and defects identified
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
