Job Summary

Responsible for the coordination of renovation and infrastructure projects for the Department of Facilities Services of the University of South Carolina including overall monitoring of contract administration and the planning, design, bidding, construction, and close out phases of project performance.

Job Related Minimum Required

Education and Experience

* Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Construction Management.

* SC Contractor's license, certified construction manager (CCM), professional engineer (PE), Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP), or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

* Knowledge of principles and practices of construction project management, modern architecture, design engineering and facility construction.

* Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the construction and modification of facilities.

* Knowledge of contract procedures, bidding procedures, architectural agreements and inspection procedures.

* Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing architectural or civil engineering project management for building or facility renovation projects and campus scale infrastructure construction.

* Ability to oversee the work of subordinate project managers or consultants.

* Ability to establish positive working relationships with customers, superiors, subordinates, associates, design and construction consultants.

* Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to prepare, review and revise plans and specifications.

* Ability to problem solve and utilize conscious decision making.

* Ability to build teams and involve stakeholders.

* Typical projects include but are not limited to interior renovations, energy efficiency projects, roofing and exterior replacements, HVAC and electrical upgrades, in ground infrastructure and thermal plant modernizations.
