Description:

The position requires a Registered Nurse with a solid background in Neuro Intensive Care.
Candidates should have experience in managing patients with neurological injuries such as stroke and post-operative neurosurgery.
Knowledge of external ventricular drain (EVD) maintenance is essential.
Candidates must have experience working in a large hospital setting with a minimum of 300 beds.
This role involves managing patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, as well as those undergoing neurovascular interventions.
All staff may be required to float to other units as necessary, based on patient census needs.
Floating is permitted only to units where competencies have been previously demonstrated and documented.
Hourly patient ratios for this unit are set at two patients to one nurse.
Travelers will need to provide their social security number as part of the hiring process.
Completion of pre-assignment testing and training modules is required prior to starting the assignment.
All nurses must maintain the ability to work with patients requiring complex neurological care.
The facility supports an interdisciplinary team including rehabilitation and respiratory services, among others.
Candidates must possess the skills to independently manage critical care situations and apply appropriate interventions.
Floating occurs only to qualified units, ensuring optimal care and patient safety.
This position demands high-level clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
