About the Position
Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience / Telemetry – South Carolina

Schedule:
12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio, 27-bed unit
Highlights:
Specialized neuroscience unit caring for stroke patients, neurosurgery cases, and seizure management within a Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, and neurosurgical procedures including shunt revisions, tumor removals, and craniotomies
Telemetry monitoring with remote dysrhythmia interpretation and management; minimal drip protocols (heparin only)
Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
24 hours of paid orientation with billable pre-assignment modules (up to 16 hours reimbursed)
13-week assignment with potential for extensions; first-time travelers welcome
Requirements:
Active South Carolina or multistate RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a similar unit setting
Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
Proficiency in IV starts, port access, PICC and central line management, and blood product administration
Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response Teams
Demonstrated competency in neuroscience nursing: CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and pre/post neurosurgery care
Respiratory skills including high-flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
Competence with feeding tube care, PCA and heparin protocols, continuous bladder irrigation, isolation precautions, and surgical drain management
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
Must reside a minimum distance from facility per travel guidelines
