Registered Nurse Medical Surgical​/Tele

Job Summary:

This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy orthopedic spine unit, focusing on post-surgical recovery, pain management, and patient mobility support. The RN will operate within a team-based environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive outcomes for patients requiring complex orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient care according to physician orders, focusing on orthopedics, spinal surgeries, and post-surgical recovery.
• Utilize EPIC EMR to chart clinical documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patient vital signs, manage heparin drips, and perform bedside procedures such as lumbar punctures and post-catheter care.
• Collaborate with physical therapy and pain management teams to support patient mobility and recovery plans.
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining competency and performance standards across multiple clinical areas.
• Adhere to all facility policies, including call-off procedures and scheduling requests.

Qualifications:

• valid SC or multi-state RN licensure with active status.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Tele RN experience, with orthopedic and EPIC charting expertise.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Demonstrated competency in performing bedside lumbar punctures, post-renal biopsies, and managing heparin protocols.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with flexible floating to other units.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
