Job Summary:
The ECMO Specialist RN is responsible for circuit management and providing specialized care to ECMO patients. This role requires prior experience in ECMO therapy, with additional duties including patient monitoring, equipment troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with certification standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor ECMO circuits, ensuring optimal functioning and safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ECMO equipment, protocols, and safety procedures.
- Document all clinical interventions and equipment statuses accurately in patient records.
- Assist with patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and clinical observations.
- Ensure compliance with required certifications and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
Qualifications:
- Hold at least 2 years of ECMO circuit management experience as an RN ECMO Specialist.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in CVICU/ICU settings preferred.
- Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Preferably hold additional certifications such as CES-A or E-AEC and LVAD.
- Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC EMR systems with at least 1-year recent experience.
- Are eligible for travel assignments with proper compliance, including a minimum of 50 miles from applicable Prisma facilities.
